There’s no place like Home! One can find thousands of such sayings or quotes that means a lot insisting the importance of a home. So, all have their own dream about a home. Building or buying a home requires a lot of effort and maintaining them for years is great work. Every home requires attention to detail that can become overwhelming at times. While DIY sounds fun it is daunting to finalise all your home designs based on DIY ideas. What is the right way to do it then? Regardless of your interest in interior design, it is always a wise decision to hire home management companies and sit with them to bring your dream into reality. Let’s explore tips that can ease the process and you also get to add little DIY elements.

A checklist for beginners

Home interiors include everything from wall paint and false ceiling patterns to curtains and furniture. Hiring professionals in your city using online portals like Home Triangle is the first step in your home decor journey. You might be wondering- where should I begin with? Here’s a little checklist you can look for to start your home-building journey-

  1. Functionality– The first thing you must keep in mind is to make the space functional. Now this will include different elements for the house including lights, gas connection, floor design, fencing, and boundaries. Ask your designer to provide a safe and functional layout before moving ahead with designs.
  2. Attention centre– Secondly, you would want to create an attention centre or a focal point. This can be an art piece or a statement piece of furniture in your living room. Create a design for the house around this focal point. This gives the designing process a pathway to lead on.
  3. Aesthetics– Then comes the aesthetics of your space. Here, the decision lies on you to choose the vibe you want to create. For instance, it can be neutral tones on the wall to create a minimalist vibe or a modern chic vibe with gorgeous lamps and rugs. The classic antique/wooden aesthetics is another option to explore.
  4. Budget– Last but not least, you should plan a budget for the money you are willing to spend on interiors. To make budgeting easy, you can divide parts of interior design and fix a budget for everything. For instance- A certain amount you want to spend on ensuring functionality then a stipulated amount on creating the perfect focal point and so on.

To ensure that you are not missing out on detailing, here’s a list of things to cross-check-

Exteriors

  • Sewage and drainage system
  • Electricity supply and wiring
  • Fencing and boundaries
  • Patios and walkways
  • Windows and doors for lighting
  • Safety doors and locks on all windows and doors

Interiors

  • Wall paint and ceiling
  • Wardrobes, kitchen cabinets, and TV units. Make sure they are all smoothly functioning
  • Shower, taps, and water flow in the washroom
  • Fire extinguisher, open pipes, smoke detectors, plumbing and release space
  • Functional garbage disposal unit

Round up

Home decor is a fun experience. You can add DIY pieces once the layout is finalized to give a personal and homely touch. Hiring a professional like Home Triangle means that you are adhering to the budget without making compromises on safety, functionality, and aesthetics.
