Selling organic milk vs selling regular milk

Selling milk as a business can be very profitable. The process of selling dairy milk is very simple. Milk can be distributed using milk routes for sale. Once you (or your employees) milk the cows, the dairy is transported to chilled trailers or on-site cooling storage tanks and stored appropriately. Further, trucks are used to transport the milk to the processing facility.

Selling Organic Milk:

The dairy farming business such as organic milk selling can be highly profitable if the costs are managed effectively. The major running cost in the dairy farming business is the cost of cattle feed. Farmers can choose to cultivate fodder for the cattle on one part of their land. Organic milk is produced by raising the animals on organic feed in which no fertilizers or pesticides are used.  Organic milk can be a valuable commodity to patrons of the health food industry because beneficial bacteria in the milk are not destroyed through processing.

Selling Regular Milk:

Well, whole milk categorically refers to cow’s milk that has not undergone any sort of nutritional alteration. Nutritionally, the milk is taken from the cow as is and processed for food safety. Regular milk has higher levels of drug residues, including antibiotics and growth hormones than organic milk. Organic milk has a longer shelf life due to the pasteurization processes it undergoes. Selling regular milk can be a profitable business as its customers are more and more sales are generated as compared to organic milk. 

Organic VS Regular Milk:

The main difference between organic and regular milk is in the way that milk is produced. Both organic milk and conventional milk are nutritious, provide similar nutritional qualities, and can be part of a healthy meal pattern. Whether you choose organic milk or conventional milk is a personal preference. By choosing organic milk, you can get the nutritional benefits of milk without exposing your family to chemical contaminants. Numerous studies have found that organic milk has a higher nutritional content, even more, healthy omega-3 fatty acids, and more disease-fighting antioxidants than non-organic milk. The demand for organic food has increased over the years. More people choose organic food, such as organic milk, for various reasons, including health, the environment, and animal welfare. Keeping in view the business point, organic milk is sold more as compared to whole milk. So selling organic milk would be a more profitable business compared to regular milk.

Conclusion:

Even though the profit on certified organic milk is larger than for regular milk, unless you have ample financial funding, it’s good to start your business on a small scale, such as 50 to 75 cows. You will need enough pasture for grazing, as grass-fed raw milk can be more desirable to your customers. You may purchase land or rent it from others. So if you have land or some area then it’s a great option to start selling milk by using milk routes for sale.

Milk routes are a trending business due to the fact of getting customers, once you established a good customer base finding ways to sell your business quickly shouldn’t be an issue!
